Emily is informed by their intersectional lived and living experiences. This includes mental ill-health, disability, LGBTQIA+, multiculturalism, neurodivergence, homelessness, family violence, and more.

For their work, Emily was recently awarded 25 Under 25, 30 Under 30, Mental Health Advocate of the Year, Youth of the Year, the Disability Leadership Award, Innovation in Protecting Children Award, Children and Youth Empowerment Award, and inducted in the inaugural cohort of the Multicultural Honor Roll.

Emily currently is the Lived Experience Lead with the Royal Children’s Hospital, Metaverse Project Manager with Meta, Board Director with Scope Australia and Midsumma, and a Consultant with UNICEF, Headspace, Beyond Blue, and more. Emily also has founded initiatives to address system gaps, including Multicultural Minds, a multicultural mental health awareness platform.

As the Lived Experience Lead at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Emily established the inaugural Lived Experience Advisor Network. Today, the Network has over 1600 Lived Experience Advisors and has facilitated over 4000 applications for opportunities to improve health services, research, and education.
As the Metaverse Project Manager for Meta, Emily led a national consultation that amplified young people's hopes, priorities, reservations, and recommendations for designing, building, and regulating the digital future. These recommendations have been used for international standards for youth digital safety. Through the project, young people’s expertise is now seen as a vital element of building a safe, kind, and inclusive metaverse - “Our Metaverse.”
As the Founder of Multicultural Minds, Emily created a platform dedicated to raising awareness of multicultural mental health. Multicultural Minds has amplified the stories of over 300 multicultural Experts by Experience who have self-identified as coming from almost 150 different cultures.
